Profile: Since 1983, Archetype has designed and constructed over 70 million dollars in commercial, institutional, and residential construction. The firm’s portfolio is diverse, yet consistent in quality construction and original design.

Archetype, an S Corporation, was formed in 1993. From 1983 to 1993, David Lloyd and William Hopkins were the partners of Archtellic, with offices in Portland, Maine and Boston, Massachusetts.  Prior to the formation of Archtellic, Mr. Hopkins had an established office in Portland, Maine, and Mr. Lloyd had an office in Brewer, Maine.

Archetype’s highly qualified team of Architects, Intern Architects, Drafters and Office Manger brings a wealth of experience and the highest professional standards to the firm and its clients.

Archetype, located on the waterfront in Portland, manages its projects and personnel so that a Principal of the firm stays with each project from beginning to completion.  We work strongly as a team in developing designs and our small office size assures strict control in quality, cost and design management.
