Speckled Ax Coffee coming to 20 Thames.

We are thrilled to be working with Speckled Ax Coffee to bring their Portland Maine waterfront location to our 20 Thames residential project. Check out the post below and be sure to grab a coffee when their second Portland location opens this fall.

I am pleased to announce that Speckled Ax Waterfront is in the works. If you had asked me a couple of years ago if we’d be opening another shop on the peninsula, I would have told you no. But things have changed, and continue to evolve, here in our little city. Some of it is for the better, some of it is definitely not, and some of it has yet to shake out. We hope this second location at 20 Thames Street will ultimately be a check mark in the city’s net-positive column, allowing us to double down on our commitments in the roastery and both locations: to serve kick-ass, sustainable coffee on par with the best being roasted anywhere; to provide a good work environment for and decent compensation to our great staff; to provide a high-quality product and hang to our wonderful customers; to contribute to the community in a productive way; and to pay higher and higher green coffee prices to coffee farmers, and by doing so bring some small measure of justice to an inequitable coffee chain.
